Runway enters the DaVinci Resolve workflow

The official announcement

Runway’s changelog lists its DaVinci Resolve plugin on 23 September 2026 under paid plans. Its stated aim is to bring Runway tools into the existing editing environment and reduce the need to switch applications.

Trying a missing transition shot or a different visual treatment during editing can be a useful role for AI. The key is seeing whether the result works in the rhythm and story of the cut. Higher resolution cannot fix a shot that does not belong in the sequence.

We suggest starting with a small creative test, checking it in the edit, then preparing the final image. Frame rate, colour, continuity and aspect ratio belong in the finishing checklist.
